Mil-C-5541E class 3 Chemical Conversion Coating on Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys.
This specification covers the requirements of chemical conversion coatings formed by the reaction of chemical conversion materials and the surface of aluminum alloys.
- Commonly known as alodine, this process is used to protect the aluminum coating on the component. This protective coating will pass salts spray, thermal cycle, and corrosion tests. It is a very durable coating and will stand up to harmful environments.

Mil-C-675C (3) Coating of Glass Optical Elements (Anti-Reflection)
This specification establishes the minimum optical and durability requirements for magnesium fluoride interference films used as anti-reflection coatings on optical materials.
MIL-DTL-83488D Coating, Aluminum, High Purity This specification establishes the requirements for coating low alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, copper alloy, and titanium alloy parts with high purity aluminum (99 percent plus).
